Durin III was the third known King of Durin's Folk and King of Khazad-dûm and a reincarnation of Durin I

Biography[]

Durin III was born in Mid-Second Age. Around S.A. 1500, Durin III created one of the seven Dwarf rings of Power. His ring would end up in the possessio n of his descendant, Thrain II, before it fell into the hands of Azog and Sauron, during the Battle of Moria.

Durin III was one of the seven dwarf lords who appear in the beginning of the prologue as one of the dwarves to recieve the seven rings of power.

Etymology[]

Durin's name comes from the poem Dvergatal, meaning "sleepy", probably referring to Durin the First's time when he was asleep.
