Sigrid (b. TA 2925) is the firstborn daughter of Bard, the older sister of Bain and Tilda and descendant of Girion, the former Lord of Dale.

The Hobbit trilogy[]

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug[]

Sigrid first appears in the second installment of The Hobbit trilogy. She usually stays home watching Tilda and Bain and making sure everything is in place before her father returns from work. They return unexpectedly with Dwarves and a hobbit, who turn out to be Thorin and his Company. She later tends to Kili as he struggles with Tauriel saving him.

The Battle of the Five Armies[]

Sigrid later evacuates Lake-town with her brother, sister, the dwarves and Tauriel, managing to survive the Destruction of Lake-town. Sigrid later is reunited with her missing brother and father. During the Battle of the Five Armies, Sigrid and Tilda later hide in the Great Hall and survive the Battle of the Five Armies.

Behind the scenes[]

  • Sigrid is a character created solely for the lack of female characters in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. This is also the same reason Tauriel and Sigrid's sister, Tilda are created.

Portrayal[]

Sigrid was portrayed by Peggy Nesbitt, who is the daughter of James Nesbitt (who also portrays Bofur in the series.
